The Prophet ﷺ met Abdul-Rahman bin Awf and noticed traces of yellow perfume on him.The Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked him, "What is this, Abdul-Rahman?"He replied, "I have married a woman from the Ansar."The Prophet asked, "How much did you give her as her dowry?"He answered, "The weight of a date-stone in gold."The Prophet ﷺ said, "Hold a wedding feast, even if only with a single sheep."Anas said, "I later saw that after his death, each of his wives received a share of one hundred thousand Dinars."
حدثنا عبد الرزاق حدثنا معمر عن ثابت البناني
أن النبي ﷺ لقي عبد الرحمن بن عوف وبه وضر من خلوق فقال له رسول الله ﷺ مهيم يا عبد الرحمن قال تزوجت امرأة من الأنصار قال كم أصدقتها قال وزن نواة من ذهب فقال النبي ﷺ أولم ولو بشاة قال أنس لقد رأيته قسم لكل امرأة من نسائه بعد موته مائة ألف دينار
Its isnad is sahih. Bukhari related this hadith, 10/221, no. 5150, Fath al-Bari, in the chapter on marriage, on how to invoke a blessing for the one who has married, and Muslim, 2/1042, no. 1427, in the chapter on marriage, and Tirmidhi, 3/393, no. 1094, in the chapter on marriage, on what has been said concerning the wedding feast, and he said, hasan sahih, and Nasai, 6/120, no. 3352, similarly.
