The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent a robe of fine silk brocade to Umar bin Khattab.Umar said, "Are you sending this to me when you have said about it what you have said?"He replied, "I did not send it to you for you to wear. I only sent it to you so that you might sell it and benefit from its price."
حدثنا عارم حدثنا أبو عوانة عن عبد الرحمن الأصم
أن رسول الله ﷺ بعث إلى عمر بن الخطاب بجبة سندس فقال عمر أتبعث بها إلي وقد قلت فيها ما قلت قال إني لم أبعث بها إليك لتلبسها إنما بعثت بها إليك لتبيعها وتنتفع بثمنها
