I went with the Prophet ﷺ to visit Zayd bin Arqam, who was suffering from a complaint in his eyes.The Prophet ﷺ said to him, "Zayd, if your eyesight were lost to this ailment, what would you do?"Zayd replied, "I would be patient and seek my reward from Allah."The Prophet ﷺ said, "If your eyesight were taken by this ailment, and you bore it patiently seeking your reward, you would meet Allah with no sin upon you."
حدثنا حسين بن محمد حدثنا شريك عن جابر عن خيثمة
دخلت مع النبي ﷺ نعود زيد بن أرقم وهو يشتكي عينيه فقال له يا زيد لو كان بصرك لما به كيف كنت تصنع قال إذا أصبر وأحتسب قال إن كان بصرك لما به ثم صبرت واحتسبت لتلقين الله عز وجل وليس لك ذنب
Its chain of transmission is hasan, because of Khaythama bin Abu Khaythama and Jabir bin Yazid Jufi, about both of whom much has been said. Haythami indicated that it is hasan (2/308). The meaning of the hadith has already appeared shortly before.
