"I have not seen any imam whose prayer resembles the prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ more than this imam of yours," referring to Umar bin Abdul-Aziz, who was in Madinah at that time. Umar did not prolong the recitation.

ما رأيت إماما أشبه بصلاة رسول الله ﷺ من إمامكم هذا لعمر بن عبد العزيز وهو بالمدينة يومئذ وكان عمر لا يطيل القراءة
Its isnad is hasan, on account of Fulayh, and Muhammad bin Musahiq is maqbul. Bukhari mentioned him in Tarikh al-Kabir, and Ibn Abu Hatim did too, without criticizing him, and Ibn Hibban mentioned him among the trustworthy, and they noted that he alone transmitted this narration. Nasai reported the hadith in 2/166, number 981, in the book of Opening (of the Prayer), on shortening the standing and the recitation.
