Anas bin Malik reported,

I entered upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while he was lying on a bed woven with palm-fiber cords, with a leather pillow stuffed with palm fibers beneath his head. A group of his companions came in, and Umar entered as well. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ turned to one side, and Umar saw that there was no garment between his side and the cords, and the cords had left their marks on the side of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Umar wept.The Prophet ﷺ asked him, "What makes you weep, Umar?"Umar replied, "By Allah, it is only because I know that you are more honored before Allah than Khosrow and Caesar, yet they indulge in this world in whatever pleasures they indulge in, while you, Messenger of Allah ﷺ, are in the state I see."The Prophet ﷺ said, "Are you not pleased that the world should be theirs and the Hereafter ours?"Umar said, "Yes, indeed."He said, "Then so it is."

حدثنا أبو النضر حدثنا المبارك عن الحسن

عن أنس بن مالك قال

دخلت على رسول الله ﷺ وهو على سرير مضطجع مرمل بشريط وتحت رأسه وسادة من أدم حشوها ليف فدخل عليه نفر من أصحابه ودخل عمر فانحرف رسول الله ﷺ انحرافة فلم ير عمر بين جنبه وبين الشريط ثوبا وقد أثر الشريط بجنب رسول الله ﷺ فبكى عمر فقال له النبي ﷺ ما يبكيك يا عمر قال والله إلا أن أكون أعلم أنك أكرم على الله عز وجل من كسرى وقيصر وهما يعبثان في الدنيا فيما يعبثان فيه وأنت يا رسول الله ﷺ بالمكان الذي أرى فقال النبي ﷺ ما ترضى أن تكون لهم الدنيا ولنا الآخرة قال عمر بلى قال فإنه كذاك
