I said to Anas, "Abu Hamza, tell us something from these marvels that you yourself witnessed, not something you heard from anyone else."He said, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed the noon prayer one day, then went and sat on the benches where Jibreel used to come to him. Bilal came and called him to the afternoon prayer, so everyone in Medina who had family there got up to relieve himself and make ablution. Some men from among the Muhajirun remained behind, for they had no families in Medina. A wide vessel containing water was brought to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he placed his palm in it. The vessel was not wide enough to hold the Messenger of Allah's ﷺ entire hand, so he had to place only his four fingers into the vessel. Then he said, "Come close and perform ablution," while his hand was in the vessel. They performed ablution until not one of them was left without having done so.I said, "Abu Hamza, how many do you think they were?"He replied, "Between seventy and eighty."
