The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to perform ablution before every prayer.I asked, "And what did you all used to do?"He replied, "We would perform several prayers with a single ablution, as long as we had not broken it."
حدثنا عبد الرحمن بن مهدي حدثنا سفيان عن عمرو بن عامر قال سمعت
كان رسول الله ﷺ يتوضأ عند كل صلاة قال قلت وأنتم كيف كنتم تصنعون قال كنا نصلي الصلوات بوضوء واحد ما لم نحدث
Its isnad is sahih. Amr bin Amir is Ansari, Kufi, trustworthy.The hadith was narrated by Bukhari 1/315 no. 214 in Fath al-Bari, in wudu, wudu without a cause of impurity, and Abu Dawud 1/44 no. 171 in purification, a man praying prayers with one wudu, and Tirmidhi 1/86 no. 58 in purification, what has been said about performing wudu for every prayer, and he said, hasan gharib.
