The prayer was called to begin while a man was speaking privately with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He kept on speaking with him until the companions fell asleep, then the Prophet stood up and led the prayer.

أقيمت الصلاة ورجل يناجي رسول الله ﷺ فما زال يناجيه حتى نام أصحابه ثم قام فصلى
