Anas bin Malik reported,

The Prophet ﷺ said that Allah will say to the person receiving the lightest punishment among the people of the Fire, "If you possessed everything on earth, would you offer it as ransom?"He will reply, "Yes."Allah will then say, "I asked of you something far easier than this when you were still in the loins of Adam, that you not associate anything with Me, but you refused and insisted on associating partners with Me."

عن النبي ﷺ قال يقول الله عز وجل لأهون أهل النار عذابا لو أن لك ما في الأرض من شيء كنت تفتدي به فيقول نعم فيقول قد أردت منك ما هو أهون من هذا وأنت في صلب آدم أن لا تشرك بي فأبيت إلا أن تشرك بي
