Anas bin Malik said to me, "I will tell you a hadith that I do not tell to just anyone. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood at the door of the house while we were inside and said, 'The leaders are from Quraysh. They have a right over you, and you have a similar right over them, that when they are asked for mercy they show mercy, when they make a covenant they fulfill it, and when they judge they judge justly. Whoever among them does not do so, upon him is the curse of Allah, the angels, and all people.'"
حدثنا محمد بن جعفر حدثنا شعبة عن سهل أبي الأسد قال
قال لي أنس بن مالك أحدثك حديثا ما أحدثه كل أحد إن رسول الله ﷺ قام على باب البيت ونحن فيه فقال الأئمة من قريش إن لهم عليكم حقا ولكم عليهم حقا مثل ذلك ما إن استرحموا فرحموا وإن عاهدوا وفوا وإن حكموا عدلوا فمن لم يفعل ذلك منهم فعليه لعنة الله والملائكة والناس أجمعين
