A man came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and asked, "Messenger of Allah, which supplication is best?"He replied, "Ask your Lord for pardon and well-being in this world and the next."Then he came to him the following day and asked, "Messenger of Allah, which supplication is best?"He replied, "Ask your Lord for pardon and well-being in this world and the next."Then he came to him on the third day and asked, "Messenger of Allah, which supplication is best?"He replied, "Ask your Lord for pardon and well-being in this world and the next, for if you are granted them in this world and then granted them in the next, you have truly succeeded."
حدثنا هاشم بن القاسم حدثنا زياد بن عبد الله بن علاثة حدثنا سلمة بن وردان المدني قال سمعت
جاء رجل إلى رسول الله ﷺ فقال يا رسول الله أي الدعاء أفضل قال تسأل ربك العفو والعافية في الدنيا والآخرة ثم أتاه من الغد فقال يا رسول الله أي الدعاء أفضل قال تسأل ربك العفو والعافية في الدنيا والآخرة ثم أتاه اليوم الثالث فقال يا رسول الله أي الدعاء أفضل قال تسأل ربك العفو والعافية في الدنيا والآخرة فإنك إذا أعطيتهما في الدنيا ثم أعطيتهما في الآخرة فقد أفلحت
