The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to seek refuge from eight things, anxiety and sorrow, helplessness and laziness, stinginess and cowardice, the burden of debt, and being overpowered by enemies.
حدثنا يزيد بن هارون أخبرنا المسعودي عن عمرو بن أبي عمرو
كان رسول الله ﷺ يتعوذ من ثمان الهم والحزن والعجز والكسل والبخل والجبن وغلبة الدين وغلبة العدو
Its isnad is sahih. Amr bin Abu Amr, Maysara, is trustworthy, and his hadith is accepted by the group. Masudi is Abdul-Rahman bin Abdullah bin Utbah, truthful but his memory became confused, and they said that Amr narrated from him before the confusion occurred.
