The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The Children of Israil split into seventy-two sects, and you will split into the same number, all of them in the Fire except one."
حدثنا وكيع حدثنا عبد العزيز يعني الماجشون عن صدقة بن يسار عن النميري
قال رسول الله ﷺ إن بني إسرائيل قد افترقت على اثنتين وسبعين فرقة وأنتم تفترقون على مثلها كلها في النار إلا فرقة
Its isnad is sahih. Sadaqah bin Yasar is trustworthy, and Umari is Abdullah bin Umar bin Hafs bin Asim bin Umar Umari, the trustworthy and firm narrator. The hadith has already been mentioned, and it appears in Abu Dawud 4/198, no. 4596, in the chapter on Sunnah, "Explanation of Sunnah," and Tirmidhi 5/26, no. 2641, where he said it is gharib, and Ibn Majah 2/1322, no. 3993, in the chapter on tribulations, "The Division of Nations," where it was graded sahih in the Zawaid.
