The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to perform the Witr prayer at the beginning of the night, in the middle of it, and at the end of it, then his practice settled on performing it at the end of the night.
حدثنا عبد الله حدثني أبو خيثمة حدثنا محمد بن فضيل عن مطرف عن أبي إسحاق عن عاصم بن ضمرة
كان رسول الله ﷺ يوتر في أول الليل وفي أوسطه وفي آخره ثم ثبت له الوتر في آخره
Its isnad is sahih, and it is a repetition of 1214. This and the one before it are among the additions of Abdullah bin Ahmad.
