Amir reported,

Sharaha became pregnant while her husband was away, so her master took her to Ali.Ali said to her, "Perhaps your husband came to you, or perhaps someone forced himself upon you?"She replied, "No," and confessed to fornication.Ali flogged her on Thursday, and I witnessed it, then he stoned her on Friday, and I also witnessed that. He ordered that a pit be dug for her up to her waist, then he said, "Stoning is a practice from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. The verse of stoning had been revealed, but those who used to recite it perished, along with other verses of the Quran, at Yamamah."

عن عامر قال

حملت شراحة وكان زوجها غائبا فانطلق بها مولاها إلى علي فقال لها علي رضي الله عنه لعل زوجك جاءك أو لعل أحدا استكرهك على نفسك قالت لا وأقرت بالزنا فجلدها علي رضي الله عنه يوم الخميس أنا شاهده ورجمها يوم الجمعة وأنا شاهده فأمر بها فحفر لها إلى السرة ثم قال إن الرجم سنة من رسول الله ﷺ وقد كانت نزلت آية الرجم فهلك من كان يقرؤها وآيا من القرآن باليمامة
