The Prophet ﷺ was passing along a road with a group of his companions when they came upon a small child. When the child's mother saw the people approaching, she feared her son would be trampled, so she rushed forward crying, "My son! My son!" She ran and snatched him up.The companions said, "Messenger of Allah, this woman would never throw her son into the fire."The Prophet ﷺ calmed them and said, "By Allah , Allah will not cast His beloved into the fire."
Its isnad is sahih, and Haythami likewise said in 10/213 that the men of Ahmad's chain are the men of the Sahih, and Hakim graded it sahih in 1/58 and 4/177, and Dhahabi agreed with him.As for his statement "fa-khaffadahum" (he eased it for them), it means he made it light on them.
