The call to begin the prayer was made while there was some dispute between the Prophet ﷺ and his wives, and he was trying to settle them down. Then Abu Bakr came and said, "Messenger of Allah, throw dust in their mouths and go out to the prayer."
حدثنا ابن أبي عدي عن حميد
أقيمت الصلاة وقد كان بين النبي ﷺ وبين نسائه شيء فجعل يرد بعضهن عن بعض فجاء أبو بكر فقال احث يا رسول الله في أفواههن التراب واخرج إلى الصلاة
