The Messenger of Allah ﷺ had a she-camel named Adba which was never outrun. Then an Arabi came on a young camel and outpaced her, and this distressed the Muslims. When he saw what was on their faces, they said, "Messenger of Allah, Adba has been beaten."He replied, "It is a right upon Allah that He raises nothing in this world except that He brings it low."
حدثنا ابن أبي عدي عن حميد
كانت ناقة رسول الله ﷺ تسمى العضباء وكانت لا تسبق فجاء أعرابي على قعود فسبقها فشق ذلك على المسلمين فلما رأى ما في وجوههم قالوا يا رسول الله سبقت العضباء فقال إن حقا على الله أن لا يرفع شيئا من الدنيا إلا وضعه
Its isnad is sahih. Bukhari related the hadith in 6/73, no. 2872 Fath al-Bari, in jihad, "the Prophet's ﷺ she-camel," Abu Dawud in 4/254, no. 4803, in etiquette, "disliking excessive pride," and Nasai in 6/227, no. 3588, in horses, "racing."
