A man from the Ansar and I went in to see Anas bin Malik right after we had prayed Zuhr. He called for the Jariya to bring water for ablution, so we said to him, "Which prayer are you about to pray?"He said, "Asr."We said, "We have only just prayed Zuhr."He said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'That is the prayer of the hypocrite. He delays the prayer until, when the sun is between the two horns of Satan, he stands and prays, remembering Allah only a little.'"

دخلنا على أنس بن مالك أنا ورجل من الأنصار حين صلينا الظهر فدعا الجارية بوضوء فقلنا له أي صلاة تصلي قال العصر قال قلنا إنما صلينا الظهر الآن فقال سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول تلك صلاة المنافق يترك الصلاة حتى إذا كانت في قرني الشيطان أو بين قرني الشيطان صلى لا يذكر الله فيها إلا قليلا
Its isnad is sahih. Muhammad bin Abu Ishaq is correctly Muhammad bin Ishaq, the author of Al-Maghazi. Muslim narrated the hadith, 1/434, no. 622, in the book of mosques, on the recommendation of praying Asr early. Abu Dawud narrated it, 1/113, no. 413, in the book of prayer, on the time of Asr. Tirmidhi narrated it, 1/301, no. 160, and said, hasan sahih. Nasai narrated it, 1/254, no. 511. And Malik narrated it, 1/220.
