The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When a morsel of food falls from one of you, let him pick it up, wipe off any dirt on it, and eat it. He should not leave it for the devil."
حدثنا معتمر عن حميد
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال إذا سقطت لقمة أحدكم فليأخذها وليمسح ما بها من الأذى ولا يدعها للشيطان
Its isnad is sahih. The hadith was narrated by Muslim, 3/1607, no. 2034, in the book of drinks, the recommendation of licking the fingers, and Abu Dawud, 3/365, no. 3845, in the book of foods, on the morsel that falls, and Tirmidhi, 4/259, no. 1803, who said, hasan sahih, and Ibn Majah, 2/1019, no. 2379, and Darimi, 2/132, no. 2028.
