Talq said to his son Ali, "Go to Abu Saeed Khudri and listen to his hadith."So we set out, and we found him in a garden of his. When he saw us, he took his cloak and came over and sat down. He began to narrate to us until he came to mention the building of the masjid. He said, "We were carrying one brick at a time, while Ammar bin Yasir was carrying two bricks at a time. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw him and began brushing the dust off him, saying, 'Ammar, won't you carry one brick like your companions do?'Ammar replied, 'I want the reward from Allah.'He kept brushing the dust off him and said, 'Alas for Ammar! The transgressing party will kill him. He will be calling them to Paradise, while they will be calling him to the Fire.'"Ammar then began saying, "I seek refuge with the Most Merciful from trials."
Its isnad is sahih. Mahboob bin Hasan, Mahboob being his nickname while his actual name is Muhammad bin Hasan bin Hilal, is truthful but has some weakness in him, and his hadith appears in Bukhari. The hadith almost reaches the level of tawatur, see 10953.
