The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Let none of you allow fear of people to prevent him from speaking the truth when he witnesses it or knows it."Shuba said, "I narrated this hadith to Qatada, and he said, 'This is not the version of Amr bin Mura from Abu Bakhtari from a man from Abu Saeed. Rather, Abu Nadra narrated to me from Abu Saeed Khudri that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Let none of you allow fear of people to prevent him from speaking the truth when he witnesses it or knows it."'"Abu Saeed said, "What drove me to act on this was that I rode to Muawiya and filled his ears with what needed to be said, then I returned."Shuba said, "Four men narrated this hadith to me from Abu Nadra, Qatada, Abu Maslama, Jareeri, and another man."
حدثنا يزيد بن هارون أخبرنا شعبة عن عمرو بن مرة عن أبي البختري عن رجل
قال رسول الله ﷺ لا يمنعن أحدكم مخافة الناس أن يقول بالحق إذا شهده أو علمه قال شعبة فحدثت هذا الحديث قتادة فقال ما هذا عمرو بن مرة عن أبي البختري عن رجل عن أبي سعيد حدثني أبو نضرة عن أبي سعيد الخدري أن رسول الله ﷺ قال لا يمنعن أحدكم مخافة الناس أن يقول بالحق إذا شهده أو علمه قال أبو سعيد فحملني على ذلك أني ركبت إلى معاوية فملأت أذنيه ثم رجعت قال شعبة حدثني هذا الحديث أربعة نفر عن أبي نضرة قتادة وأبو مسلمة والجريري ورجل آخر
