I went to Abu Saeed Khudri and said, "Won't you come out with us to the palm grove so we can talk?"So he came out.I said, "Tell me what you heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say about Laylat al-Qadr."He said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed itikaf during the first ten days of Ramadan, and we performed itikaf with him. Then Jibreel came to him and said, 'What you are seeking lies ahead of you.'On the morning of the twentieth of Ramadan, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood up to address us and said, 'Whoever performed itikaf with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, let him return, for I have been shown Laylat al-Qadr, and it is in the last ten nights of Ramadan, on an odd-numbered night. I have been made to forget which one, but I saw myself prostrating in mud and water.'We saw nothing in the sky."Hammam said, "I think Qaza named the cloud by some name.""Then a cloud came. The roof of the mosque was made of palm fronds, and we were rained upon. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ led us in prayer, and I saw the traces of mud and water on the forehead and the tip of the nose of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, confirming his vision."
حدثنا عفان حدثنا همام حدثنا يحيى بن أبي كثير
انطلقت إلى أبي سعيد الخدري قال قلت ألا تخرج بنا إلى النخل نتحدث قال فخرج قال قلت حدثني ما سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول في ليلة القدر قال اعتكف رسول الله ﷺ العشر الأول من رمضان فاعتكفنا معه فأتاه جبريل فقال إن الذي تطلب أمامك فلما كان صبيحة عشرين من رمضان قام رسول الله ﷺ خطيبا فقال من كان اعتكف مع رسول الله ﷺ فليرجع فإني أريت ليلة القدر وإنها في العشر الأواخر من رمضان في وتر وإني أنسيتها وإني رأيت كأني أسجد في طين وماء قال وما نرى في السماء قال همام أحسبه قال قزعة سمى الغيم باسم فجاءت سحابة وكان سقف المسجد جريد النخل فأمطرنا فصلى بنا رسول الله ﷺ فرأيت أثر الطين والماء على جبهة رسول الله ﷺ وأرنبته تصديقا لرؤياه
