Malik bin Umayr reported,
Zayd bin Sawhan came to Ali 
and said, "Tell me what the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade you from."Ali replied, "He forbade me from the green jar, the gourd, the hollowed stump, and barley wine, from gold rings," or he said "gold loops," "and from silk, silk-brocade garments, and red saddle-cloths."Ali said, "A silk garment was once given as a gift to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he clothed me in it. I went out wearing it, but he took it back and gave it to Fatimah," or to "his Amtah."Ismail is the one who said this.

مالك بن عمير قال
جاء زيد بن صوحان إلى علي رضي الله عنه فقال حدثني ما نهاك عنه رسول الله ﷺ فقال نهاني عن الحنتم والدباء والنقير والجعة وعن خاتم الذهب أو قال حلقة الذهب وعن الحرير والقسي والميثرة الحمراء قال وأهديت لرسول الله ﷺ حلة حرير فكسانيها فخرجت فيها فأخذها فأعطاها فاطمة أو عمته إسماعيل يقول ذلك
Its isnad is sahih. It is a repetition of 963, except that there it states that the one who asked Ali was Sasaa bin Sawhan, as in the narration that follows. Zayd and Sasaa were full brothers from the same father and mother, and they both took part in the Battle of the Camel along with their brother Sayhan bin Sawhan. Sayhan was the orator before Sasaa, as stated in Ibn Saad 6:154, which also mentions that Sasaa narrated the meaning of this hadith from Ali. Ibn Saad also gives a biography of Zayd in 6:84-86, and relates that when he was struck and lifted wounded from the battlefield, he said, "Bury me and my mother's son in one grave, and do not wash the blood off us, for we are people engaged in a dispute." Zayd has a biography in Isabah 3:45-46 and Tajil 142-143, and Sasaa has a biography in Isabah 3:259-260 and Tahdheeb 4:422. Their father's name, Sawhan, is pronounced with a damma on the sad.
