The Prophet ﷺ said, "A people will emerge from the east who recite the Quran, but it will not pass beyond their throats. They will pass out of the religion as an arrow passes through its target, and they will not return to it until the arrow returns to its notch."Someone asked, "What is their distinguishing mark?"He replied, "Their mark is shaving their heads and cropping their hair short."
حدثنا عفان حدثنا مهدي بن ميمون حدثنا محمد بن سيرين عن معبد بن سيرين
عن النبي ﷺ قال يخرج أناس من قبل المشرق يقرءون القرآن لا يجاوز تراقيهم يمرقون من الدين كما يمرق السهم من الرمية ثم لا يعودون فيه حتى يعود السهم على فوقه قيل ما سيماهم قال سيماهم التحليق والتسبيت
Its isnad is sahih. Mahdi bin Maymun is al-Azdi, and Mabad is narrated from by his brother Muhammad and by Anas. As for his statement "tasbeet," it means shaving off all the hair. This hadith was mentioned earlier at 11230, and it is recorded by all the imams.
