I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "When one of you prays" — Bahz said, "facing something that screens him from the people — and someone wishes to pass in front of him, let him push him back in his throat. If he refuses, let him fight him, for he is none other than a devil."
حدثنا هاشم بن القاسم وبهز قالا ثنا سليمان عن حميد عن أبي صالح قال بهز السمان
سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول إذا صلى أحدكم قال بهز إلى شيء يستره من الناس فأراد أحد أن يجتاز بين يديه فليدفع في نحره فإن أبى فليقاتله فإنما هو شيطان
Its isnad is sahih. Sulayman is Ibn Mughira, and Humayd is Ibn Hilal Adawi. The hadith was narrated by Bukhari, 1/136, in the Book of Prayer, Muslim, 1/363, no. 505, in the Book of Prayer, on the prohibition of one passing in front of a person praying, Abu Dawud, 1/186, no. 700, Ibn Khuzayma, 2/15, no. 817, and Bayhaqi, 2/267.
