Abu Saeed Khudri reported,

An Arabi came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "Most of my family's food is this," meaning lizards. The Prophet ﷺ did not answer him. The man had not gone far before he returned and repeated his question, but again received no reply. He came back a third time, and the Prophet ﷺ said, "Allah Almighty cursed, or was angered with, a tribe of the Children of Israil and transformed them into animals. I do not know whether these creatures are among them, so I will not eat them, nor will I forbid them."
