Abu Saeed Khudri reported,

The Prophet ﷺ said, "Beware of sitting in the roadways." Muamar sometimes said, "on the pathways."They said, "Messenger of Allah, we have no choice but to hold our gatherings there."He said, "Then give the road its due."They asked, "And what is its due?"He replied, "Return the greeting of peace, lower your gaze, guide the one who asks for directions, enjoin what is right, and forbid what is wrong."

حدثنا عبد الرزاق أخبرنا معمر عن زيد بن أسلم عن رجل

عن أبي سعيد

أن النبي ﷺ قال إياكم والجلوس على الطريق وربما قال معمر على الصعدات قالوا يا رسول الله لا بد لنا من مجالسنا قال فأدوا حقها قالوا وما حقها قال ردوا السلام وغضوا البصر وأرشدوا السائل وأمروا بالمعروف وانهوا عن المنكر
