The Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed the witr prayer at every part of the night, at its beginning, its middle, and its end, and his witr eventually settled at the last part of the night.

من كل الليل أوتر رسول الله ﷺ من أوله وأوسطه وآخره وانتهى وتره إلى آخره
