I asked Ibn Abbas about exchanging currency hand to hand. He said, "There is no harm in that, two for one, more or less."He said, I then performed Hajj another time, and the old man was still alive, so I came to him and asked him about currency exchange.He said, "Equal weight for equal weight."I said, "You gave me a verdict permitting two for one, and I have continued to issue that verdict ever since you gave it to me."He replied, "That was my own opinion, but here is Abu Saeed Khudri narrating from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, so I have abandoned my opinion in favor of the hadith of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ."
حدثنا يزيد بن هارون أخبرنا سليمان بن علي الربعي
سألت ابن عباس عن الصرف يدا بيد فقال لا بأس بذلك اثنين بواحد أكثر من ذلك وأقل قال ثم حججت مرة أخرى والشيخ حي فأتيته فسألته عن الصرف فقال وزنا بوزن قال فقلت إنك قد أفتيتني اثنين بواحد فلم أزل أفتي به منذ أفتيتني فقال إن ذلك كان عن رأيي وهذا أبو سعيد الخدري يحدث عن رسول الله ﷺ فتركت رأيي إلى حديث رسول الله ﷺ

Its isnad is sahih. Abu Jawza is Aws bin Abdullah Rubai, trustworthy, though he is known to narrate with elision, except that here he explicitly states that he heard it directly and that it is raised to the Prophet. This hadith was already mentioned at 11385, where the printed edition has "Abu Jawza," which is an error.
