We used to be given a mixed-quality variety of dates as our ration. Yazid said, dates from the mixed-quality variety, during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. We would sell two saa of these for one saa of better dates. News of this reached the Prophet ﷺ, and he said, "Not two saa of dates for one saa, nor two saa of wheat for one saa, nor two dirhams for one dirham."
حدثنا عبد الملك حدثنا هشام ويزيد بن هارون أخبرنا هشام عن يحيى عن أبي سلمة
كنا نرزق تمر الجمع وقال يزيد تمر من تمر الجمع على عهد رسول الله ﷺ فنبيع الصاعين بالصاع فبلغ ذلك النبي ﷺ فقال لا صاعي تمر بصاع ولا صاعي حنطة بصاع ولا درهمين بدرهم
