The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "None of you should belittle himself when he sees a matter in which Allah has something to be said, by failing to speak up about it. For it will be said to him on the Day of Resurrection, 'What prevented you from speaking about it?' He will say, 'My Lord, I feared people.' Allah will say, 'I had more right to be feared.'"Abu Naeem said, meaning in the hadith, "And I had more right that you should fear Me."
حدثنا وكيع عن سفيان وعبد الرزاق قال أخبرنا سفيان عن زبيد عن عمرو بن مرة عن أبي البختري
قال رسول الله ﷺ لا يحقرن أحدكم نفسه إذا رأى أمرا لله فيه مقال أن يقول فيه فيقال له يوم القيامة ما منعك أن تقول فيه فيقول رب خشيت الناس قال فأنا أحق أن تخشى وقال أبو نعيم يعني في الحديث وإني كنت أحق أن تخافني
