The Prophet ﷺ said, "Beware of sitting in the roadways."The companions said, "Messenger of Allah, we have no choice but to gather there for our conversations."He said, "If you must sit there, then give the road its due."They asked, "What is the due of the road, Messenger of Allah?"He replied, "Lowering the gaze, refraining from causing harm, returning greetings of peace, enjoining good, and forbidding evil."

عن النبي ﷺ قال إياكم والجلوس بالطرقات قالوا يا رسول الله ما لنا من مجالسنا بد نتحدث فيها قال فأعطوا الطريق حقها قالوا وما حق الطريق يا رسول الله قال غض البصر وكف الأذى والأمر بالمعروف والنهي عن المنكر
