We set out with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to Quba on a Monday, and we passed through the quarter of Banu Salim. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ stopped at the door of Ibn Itban and called out, while Ibn Itban was with his wife. He came out dragging his lower garment, and when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw him, he said, "We have rushed the man."Ibn Itban said, "Messenger of Allah, what do you say about a man who comes to his wife but does not ejaculate, what is required of him?"The Prophet ﷺ said, "Water is only required because of water."
حدثنا عبد الملك بن عمرو حدثنا زهير عن شريك بن عبد الله بن أبي نمر
خرجنا مع رسول الله ﷺ إلى قباء يوم الاثنين فمررنا في بني سالم فوقف رسول الله ﷺ بباب ابن عتبان فصرخ وابن عتبان على بطن امرأته فخرج يجر إزاره فلما رآه رسول الله ﷺ قال أعجلنا الرجل قال ابن عتبان يا رسول الله أرأيت الرجل إذا أتى امرأة ولم يمن عليها ماذا عليه فقال النبي ﷺ إنما الماء من الماء
