The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was brought some moist, succulent dates, while the dates of the Prophet of Allah ﷺ were dry, baal dates with some hardness to them. He asked, "Where did you get these dates?"They replied, "These are dates we purchased, one saa for two saas of our own dates."The Prophet ﷺ said, "That is not lawful. Rather, sell your dates first, then buy what you need."
حدثنا محمد بن جعفر حدثنا سعيد عن قتادة عن سعيد بن المسيب
أن رسول الله ﷺ أتي بتمر ريان وكان تمر نبي الله ﷺ تمرا بعلا فيه يبس فقال أنى لكم هذا التمر فقالوا هذا تمر ابتعنا صاعا بصاعين من تمرنا فقال النبي ﷺ لا يصلح ذلك ولكن بع تمرك ثم ابتع حاجتك
