We were on the pilgrimage and stopped to rest under a tree, when Ibn Sayyad came and settled down on one side of it. I said to myself, "We belong to Allah. Why has this one been thrust upon me?"He said, "Abu Saeed, what I endure from the people! What things they say to me! They claim I am Dajjal. Did you not hear the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say that Dajjal will have no children, and will not enter Madinah or Makkah?"I replied, "Yes, indeed."He said, "But I have had children born to me, and here I am, having left Madinah, heading for Makkah."Abu Saeed said, I almost felt sympathy for him, until he said, "By Allah, I know exactly where he is and who he is."I said, "May ruin take you for the rest of this day."
حدثنا سريج حدثنا حماد عن الجريري عن أبي نضرة
حججنا فنزلنا تحت شجرة وجاء ابن صائد فنزل في ناحيتها فقلت إنا لله ما صب هذا علي قال فقال يا أبا سعيد ما ألقى من الناس وما يقولون لي يقولون إني الدجال أما سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول الدجال لا يولد له ولا يدخل المدينة ولا مكة قال قلت بلى وقال قد ولد لي وقد خرجت من المدينة وأنا أريد مكة قال أبو سعيد فكأني رققت له فقال والله إن أعلم الناس بمكانه لأنا قال قلت تبا لك سائر اليوم
Its chain is sahih. The hadith was mentioned earlier at 11152, and it is found in Muslim in the chapter on tribulations, mentioning Ibn Sayad. Abu Saeed's statement to Ibn Sayad, "Woe to you," indicates that he had not heard the hadith of the Jassasah, which will come later.
