He traced it back to the Prophet ﷺ, who said, "When a man becomes uncertain in his prayer and does not know whether he has added or omitted something, let him perform two prostrations while sitting."
حدثنا عارم حدثنا سعيد بن زيد قال حدثنا علي بن الحكم قال حدثنا أبو نضرة
ورفعه إلى النبي ﷺ أنه قال إذا أوهم الرجل في صلاته فلم يدر أزاد أم نقص فليسجد سجدتين وهو جالس
