The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade a man from walking in a single sandal or a single shoe.
حدثنا حسن حدثنا ابن لهيعة حدثنا أبو الأسود عن عروة
أن رسول الله ﷺ نهى أن يمشي الرجل في نعل واحدة أو في خف واحد
Its isnad is hasan because of Ibn Lahia, and Hasan here is Hasan bin Musa, who is trustworthy, and Abu Aswad is Muhammad bin Abdul-Rahman bin Nawfal, known as the orphan ward of Urwa al-Asadi, who is trustworthy, and Urwa is Ibn Zubayr bin Awwam, the well-known jurist and imam.The hadith is found in Muslim 3/1661, number 2099, in the Book of Clothing, on the prohibition of wrapping oneself in a single garment leaving no opening for the hands (ishtimal al-samma), and in Abu Dawud 4/70, numbers 4137 and 5369 (sic), in the Book of Adornment.
