A drunken man was brought to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. The man said, "I did not drink wine. I only drank a mixture of raisins and dates soaked in a gourd vessel."So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered that he be punished, and he was struck with hands and beaten with sandals. He then forbade the use of gourd vessels for soaking, and he forbade mixing raisins and dates together.
حدثنا محمد بن جعفر حدثنا شعبة عن أبي التياح قال سمعت ابن الوداك وقال حجاج عن أبي الوداك يقول لا أشرب نبيذا بعد ما
أتي رسول الله ﷺ برجل نشوان فقال إني لم أشرب خمرا إنما شربت زبيبا وتمرا في دباءة قال فأمر به فنهز بالأيدي وخفق بالنعال ونهى عن الدباء ونهى عن الزبيب والتمر يعني أن يخلطا
