A man came to Abu Saeed and asked, "Did you hear the Messenger of Allah ﷺ mention anything about the Haruriyyah?"He replied, "I heard him mention a people who go to extremes in religion. One of you would belittle his own prayer compared to their prayer, and his fasting compared to their fasting. They pass through religion the way an arrow passes through its target. The archer takes his arrow and inspects its head but sees nothing on it, then he inspects its shaft but sees nothing, then he inspects its notch but sees nothing, then he inspects its feathers and is left in doubt as to whether he sees anything on them or not."

جاء رجل إلى أبي سعيد فقال هل سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يذكر في الحرورية شيئا قال سمعته يذكر قوما يتعمقون في الدين يحقر أحدكم صلاته عند صلاتهم وصومه عند صومهم يمرقون من الدين كما يمرق السهم من الرمية أخذ سهمه فنظر في نصله فلم ير شيئا ثم نظر في رصافه فلم ير شيئا ثم نظر في قدحته فلم ير شيئا ثم نظر في القذذ فتمارى هل يرى شيئا أم لا
