Musk was mentioned in the presence of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he said, "It is the finest of fragrances."
حدثنا وكيع حدثنا شعبة حدثنا خليد بن جعفر عن أبي نضرة
ذكر المسك عند رسول الله ﷺ فقال هو أطيب الطيب
Its isnad is sahih. Its narrators are leading authorities, and it has not been established that anyone declared Khulayd bin Jafar daif. The hadith is found in Muslim 4/1765, no. 2252, in the Book of Expressions, the use of musk, and in Abu Dawud 3/200, no. 3158, in the Book of Funerals, musk for the deceased, and in Tirmidhi 3/308, no. 992, similarly, where he said, hasan sahih.
