The Prophet ﷺ said, "There will be rulers surrounded by entourages and attendants from among the people who will commit injustice and tell lies. Whoever enters upon them and confirms their lies and helps them in their oppression is not from me, nor am I from him. And whoever does not enter upon them, nor confirm their lies, nor help them in their oppression, he is from me and I am from him."
حدثنا يحيى عن شعبة حدثنا قتادة عن سليمان بن أبي سليمان
عن النبي ﷺ قال تكون أمراء تغشاهم غواش أو حواش من الناس يظلمون ويكذبون فمن دخل عليهم فصدقهم بكذبهم وأعانهم على ظلمهم فليس مني ولست منه ومن لم يدخل عليهم ويصدقهم بكذبهم ويعنهم على ظلمهم فهو مني وأنا منه
Its chain of transmission is sahih, and Sulayman bin Abu Sulayman Hashimi Qurashi is "acceptable" as stated in Taqrib, and he was likewise accepted in Jarh 4/531, while Haythami said in Majma 5/246, "I do not know him." The hadith was narrated by Ibn Hibban 1/520 no. 286 Ihsan, and similarly in Tirmidhi 4/525 no. 259, where he said, "Sahih ghareeb," and by Nasai 7/160 no. 4207.
