Abu Saeed reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, when this surah was revealed, "When the help of Allah and the conquest comes, and you see the people..." [Nasr 110:1–2], the Messenger of Allah ﷺ recited it to its end and said, "The people are one group, and my Companions and I are another group." He also said, "There is no migration after the conquest, but rather jihad and intention."Marwan said to him, "You have lied," while Rafi bin Khadij and Zayd bin Thabit were sitting with him on the couch.Abu Saeed said, "If these two wished, they could tell you the same, but this one fears that you will remove him from his position as chief over his people, and this one fears that you will remove him from collecting the charity."So they remained silent. Then Marwan raised his whip to strike him, and when they saw that, they said, "He has spoken the truth."
حدثنا محمد بن جعفر حدثنا شعبة عن عمرو بن مرة عن أبي البختري الطائي
عن رسول الله ﷺ أنه قال لما نزلت هذه السورة إذا جاء نصر الله والفتح ورأيت الناس قال قرأها رسول الله ﷺ حتى ختمها وقال الناس حيز وأنا وأصحابي حيز وقال لا هجرة بعد الفتح ولكن جهاد ونية فقال له مروان كذبت وعنده رافع بن خديج وزيد بن ثابت وهما قاعدان معه على السرير فقال أبو سعيد لو شاء هذان لحدثاك ولكن هذا يخاف أن تنزعه عن عرافة قومه وهذا يخشى أن تنزعه عن الصدقة فسكتا فرفع مروان عليه الدرة ليضربه فلما رأيا ذلك قالوا صدق
