I came upon the Prophet ﷺ while he was performing ablution from the well of Budaa. I said, "Messenger of Allah, are you performing ablution from this well, when foul matter is thrown into it?"He replied, "Water is not made impure by anything."
حدثنا عبد الصمد بن عبد الوارث حدثنا عبد العزيز بن مسلم حدثنا مطرف عن خالد بن أبي نوف
انتهيت إلى النبي ﷺ وهو يتوضأ من بئر بضاعة فقلت يا رسول الله توضأ منها وهي يلقى فيها ما يلقى من النتن فقال إن الماء لا ينجسه شيء
Its isnad is sahih. Abdul-Samad is truthful and reliable, Abdul-Aziz Nasai is trustworthy, Mutarrif is Ibn Tarif, trustworthy, and Khalid is acceptable. The hadith was narrated by Abu Dawud 1/18/1, no. 17, in the chapter on Purification, what has been said about the well of Budaah, by Tirmidhi 1/96, no. 66, who graded it hasan, and by Nasai 1/174, no. 326.
