The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The believers will be saved from the Fire on the Day of Resurrection, then they will be detained on a bridge between Paradise and the Fire. There, retribution will be exacted among them for wrongs they committed against one another in the world. Once they have been refined and purified, they will be granted permission to enter Paradise. By the One in whose hand my soul rests, each of them will know the way to his dwelling in Paradise better than he knew the way to his dwelling in the world."
Its isnad is sahih. Saeed bin Abu Aruba, Mihran, is trustworthy, Qatada bin Diama Sadusi is trustworthy and well known, and Abu Siddiq Naji, Bakr bin Amr, is also trustworthy. A similar hadith is found in Bukhari 8/138, in the chapter on Riqaq, "Retribution on the Day of Resurrection," "he is more guided to his home in Paradise than he was to his home in this world."
