Abdullah bin Umar opened a small door of his while Abu Saeed Khudri was with him, and a snake came out toward them. Abdullah bin Umar ordered that it be killed.Abu Saeed said, "Do you not know that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded that they be given warning before being killed?"
حدثنا محمد بن عبد الله بن الزبير حدثنا هشام يعني ابن سعد

Its isnad is hasan because of Hisham. Muhammad bin Abdullah bin Zubayr is Abu Ahmad Zubayri, and Hisham bin Saad has been the subject of some discussion, but he is truthful, and Dhahabi said, "His hadith is hasan." The hadith is found in Muslim, 4/1757, number 2236, in the chapter on greetings, killing snakes, and in Abu Dawud, 5256, and Tirmidhi, as a raised report, 1484, from Abu Saeed. The jawkhah is a large opening like a window.
