The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "As for the people of the Fire who are its true inhabitants, they will neither die in it nor live. But there are people," or as he put it, "whom the Fire will touch because of their sins," or he said, "because of their wrongdoings, and it will cause them to die a death. Then, when they have become charcoal, permission will be granted for intercession. They will be brought forth in groups upon groups upon groups, and they will be scattered along the rivers of Paradise. It will be said, 'People of Paradise, pour water over them.' Then they will sprout the way a seed grows in the silt left by a flood."A man from the gathering then remarked, "It is as though the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had once lived in the desert."
