Abu Nadra reported,

I asked Abu Saeed, "Did you hear anything from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about exchanging gold for gold and silver for silver?"He replied, "I will tell you what I heard from him. The man in charge of his dates came to him with some fine dates. The dates the Prophet ﷺ usually had were called Lawn dates.The Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked him, 'Where did you get these fine dates?'He answered, 'I took two saa of our dates and exchanged them for one saa of these.'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him, 'You have committed riba.'"Then Abu Saeed said, "So is dates for dates more deserving of being called riba, or silver for silver and gold for gold?"

عن أبي نضرة قال

قلت لأبي سعيد أسمعت من رسول الله ﷺ في الذهب بالذهب والفضة بالفضة قال سأخبركم ما سمعت منه جاءه صاحب تمره بتمر طيب وكان تمر النبي ﷺ يقال له اللون قال فقال له رسول الله ﷺ من أين لك هذا التمر الطيب قال ذهبت بصاعين من تمرنا واشتريت به صاعا من هذا قال فقال له رسول الله ﷺ أربيت قال ثم قال أبو سعيد فالتمر بالتمر أربى أم الفضة بالفضة والذهب بالذهب
