The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever begs while possessing the value of an ounce has been excessive in asking."
حدثنا أبو سعيد حدثنا عبد الرحمن بن أبي الرجال حدثنا عمارة بن غزية
قال رسول الله ﷺ من سأل وله قيمة أوقية فقد ألحف
Its isnad is sahih. Abdul-Rahman bin Abu Rijal is truthful with few errors, and Abdul-Rahman bin Abu Saeed Khudri is trustworthy. Abu Dawud narrated the hadith, 2/116, no. 1628, in the chapter on zakat, on who may be given from charity, and Nasai narrated it, 5/98, no. 2595, in the chapter on zakat, on the persistent beggar.
