The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "As for the people of the Fire who truly belong to it, they will neither die nor live. But as for people whom Allah intends to show mercy, He will cause them to die in the Fire. Then the intercessors will be permitted to come to them, and a man will take hold of his supporters and spread them out," or he said, "and they will sprout on the river of Haya," or he said, "Hayawan," or he said, "Hayah," or he said, "the river of Paradise. They will sprout as a seed sprouts in the silt carried by a flood."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then said, "Have you not seen a tree, how it is green, then turns yellow?" or he said, "How it is yellow, then turns green?"Some of those present remarked, "It is as though the Prophet ﷺ had lived in the desert."
